However, if you can have the flexibility on choosing your caterer, then you can take the liberty on deciding who you wish to go for.
Before you set out to choose a caterer, you must set aside a budget first. Setting aside will help you filter out the caterers that fall within your range. It will also help you decide on the number of courses and food items that you might want to short-list for your wedding.
It is best to short-list a few caterers and compare their menus and prices etc. You may also like to check their reviews and speak to previous clients about their experiences.
Some caterers will offer a lot of variety, while some may be specialists in providing a selected menu. You might need to check the menu of each caterer and see which menu you like the most.

You need to speak to them first and see who will be responsible for taking over control on your wedding day. You may like to talk to that person directly and judge them based on the customer service they offer to you. The last thing you need to worry about is having any problems with the food that is served. It would be best if you always had someone you can contact and be responsible for looking after the arrangements.
Before you book any caterer, you must check if they are available on that date. Also, you might need to check how busy they are during that time. If it is their busy time of the year, it is always worth checking if they have enough staff to support it. You need also to check if they will serve all food on time and that there are no delays.
